Porto celebrates National Historic Centres Day with more than 70 activities over 12 hours
To celebrate the National Historic Centres Day, which will be marked on March 25th, the city of Porto will have more than 70 activities, most of them with free access, designed for different audiences and spread about various places. The event will be even more prominent in 2017, since 20 years have passed since UNESCO declared the Historic Centre of Porto as a World Heritage site.
In response to the invitation issued by Porto City Hall, more than thirty entities from the city associated themselves with the event and will open the doors of their spaces to welcome the most diverse initiatives.
The visitors, national and foreign, in groups or individually, will thus be able to discover or rediscover the singularities of the heart of Porto, which not only is celebrating but also values and protects itself.
Also the the project Alumia will inaugurate more light installations around Passeios das Virtudes and the Vitória Stairs. The project will use light as the heritage main exploration, revelation and transformation tool. Come take a look, contemplate it from a different angle, under a new look, under a new light. Come and watch this new Porto enlighten itself.
